Hunza's success story starts from a family operated business in seafood and packaging which have grown and expanded over the years to the eventual listing in the Bursa Malaysia in the year 1997. The company enjoyed steady profits until the financial performance began to decline due to slow down in Malaysia's economy.

In the year 2004, a significant acquisition of shares by Yayasan Bumiputra Pulau Pinang lead to a change in Hunza's Board of Directors. Dato'Syed Mohamad bin Syed Murtaza was appointed to the Board of Directors as Chairman representing the change in substantial shareholder. Since then, Hunza has undergone strategic actions (i.e. strengthening local packaging business, suspension of the seafood business, liquidation of the other non-core business ) to turn around the Group's performance.

Hunza's core business today is corrugated paper packaging. The factories are situated in the state of Penang and Sarawak and as such we are able to cater to customers in both East and West Malaysia. We offer to our customers not only corrugated carton boxes but a one stop packaging solution to their business needs.
